My Favorite Cafes and Coffee Shops In Paris


If you're visiting Paris and wondering about all the classic cafes and also want to find some hidden gems while you're here, I'm listing some of my favorites below! There are so many restaurants in Paris that you have to experience, but I have prepared a list of 12 of my favorite finds, to save your time. For most of these restaurants, it is highly recommended that you have a reservation. I have provided the links to each location so you can start planning your amazing Parisian culinary experience today!


Le Nemours Paris

1st arrondissement 


Located between the Louvre and the Palais-Royal Gardens, Le Nemours is a Parisian institution with a beautiful terrace open year round. This is an essential Parisian eatery for all lovers of Paris.





Le Café Marly

1st arrondissement 


Café Marly is one of the most beautiful and best kept secrets in Paris! In the heart of the Tuileries, under the arcades of the Louvre, it is the perfect Parisian brasserie café where you can relax on the terrace while enjoying the view of the Louvre pyramid. You will create a memorable experience at this unique and iconic eatery.


Bistrot Vivienne

2nd arrondissement 


This traditional atmospheric art deco French bistro has framed the entrance of the beautiful glass-domed Galerie Vivienne since it opened to the public in 1826. If you're a history and French cuisine lover, be sure to add this to your list!

Carboni’s 

3rd arrondissement 


An ode to all things Italian, Carboni's is a new take on Italian cuisine right in the middle of Paris! Chic, vibrant eatery with an intimate underground cocktail bar (complete with a vinyl jukebox!) serving elevated Italian food & wine.


Polidor 

6th arrondissement 


Polidor has a unique history since it opened its doors in 1845 as one of the oldest bistrots of Paris. It has long been a popular rendezvous for artists, students, intellectuals and politicians from the surrounding neighborhoods. (A favorite hangout of Hemingway!) Le Polidor has always provided simple good French cuisine, both homey and affordable, for over 175 years.


Le Hibou

6th arrondissement 


Run, don’t walk to this favorite in the ”Rive Gauche" area, located on the crossroads of the Odeon. The chic antique decor and deep blue walls, create a warm and chill atmosphere where you can have coffee, lunch, or brunch during the day and cocktails and dinner at night. And don’t forget to order the chocolate mousse to share!!


Saint Pearl

7th arrondissement 


For a casual treat, this cozy eclectic breakfast cafe is a must for matcha and specialty coffee lovers! This hidden gem also has an interesting specialty brunch menu with fresh homemade pastries and juices


Café Lapérouse

8th arrondissement  


This cafe is a trendy meal destination with decor inspired by the travels of the explorer Lapérouse (the restaurant’s namesake). 18th century influences, colorful print and Art Deco accents surround you as you enjoy your gastronomic experience in true Parisian style.


L’Office

9th arrondissement 


This bistrot boasts the Best Beef Wellington in the world. I have personally tried it and agree 100%! The fresh market menu (from local farms) changes with the seasons. You will totally enjoy the extensive list of biodynamic and natural wines, French craft beers & cocktails.

CoCo 

9th arrondissement 


Chic and trendy, CoCo has a magnificent atmosphere and is located at the Palais Garnier. A great place for lunch, brunch, drinks or dinner. They often have a violinist or guitarist for musical entertainment in the evening.

Girafe

16th arrondissement 


Dine in the heart of Paris, on Girafe’s amazing terrace with Eiffel Tower views! This restaurant is known for its old-fashioned friendly service and delicious seafood and fish from the French coast. In the spirit of the 1930s, Girafe has subdued décor, with a marble bar, tropical plants and original pilasters. Classic dining with a mixture of allure and carefree spirit in a very Parisian style.

Le Vrai Paris

18th arrondissement 


Le Vrai is an authentic French bistro full of charm in the heart of the historic district of Montmartre. If you're looking for the atmosphere of the Paris of yesteryear, this is your place! The colorful outdoor floral display will not disappoint and is great for a picture perfect moment!
